Sun Study

If I am in the southern hemisphere (NZ), do I need to set the north offset to 180 deg ? i have entered the lat & long co ordinates

Hi there!,

Based on a quick google search:

“In the Southern Hemisphere, the sun appears to move across the northern part of the sky during the day. This is because the Earth is tilted on its axis, which causes the sun’s path across the sky to vary depending on your location on Earth and the time of year. In the Southern Hemisphere, the sun will be highest in the sky at solar noon and will generally appear to move from east to west, crossing the northern part of the sky.”

For a more accurate sun study:

  1. You may use third party websites/applications in order to accurately gauge the sun location.
  2. You may then use the North Offset Parameter to rotate the sun position.

Cheers,
