Hello,
So I have this annoying problem. At some point, while working, D5 crashed. Ok…I have recovered my work, through bkp file (by the way it’s a big scene, like a small part of a city).
Didn’t change anything, like the path of the folder, or the original file. After opening the bkp file, I have tried the “Save as…” option, to be sure that I’m not losing any of my progress…it showed the prompt error saying that the original file was moved…ok, I have tried to save it simple, but here is where the real problem shows up. It gets stuck to 0%. After more than one hour waiting, it was still 0% saving progression.
What can I do? I need to mention that I’m talking a big scene, and I really need to set up the cameras for a video rendering, and need to save them, until I receive the approval for rendering like so.
Also, if it’s relevant, space on my disk, I think it’s enough, 2,65 TB, and the specs of my computer are:
Nvidia Geforce RTX 4070
CPU: Amd Ryzen 7 5800x3D
Hi there @irinaantoanela
I apologize for the inconvenience. By chance, are you pertaining to the .bak file? We don’t recommend opening the .bak file and then proceeding to save it just like the normal file. If you’re trying to recover your file, you may access it through D5’s Recent Tabs > Right-click on the Project > View History Version
If you are experiencing crash with a specific file only and you are already using the 2.10 Version, given also that it is a big scene, you may need to optimize your model by doing some asset organization.
- Hiding assets that are not evident on specific scenes will lighten the load.
- You may enable Smooth Mode instead of Precise while adjusting your model.
- Temporarily disable Dynamic Assets
Thank you for your reply.
Well…I have nothing in “Recent”.
This situation started when I was working normally, and suddenly my D5 crashed…Ok, I opened the Bkp file by replacing the .bkp extension with .drs. Didn’t change the file path or something else, just renamed the extensions. I needed to do that because I had nothing in “recent” tab. The scene opened, and when I finished what I had to do…and when I tried to save it, it got stuck at 0%, but the animation on the background didn’t get stuck, which means, the scene was working properly.
One thing I have noticed while working on back up file, and that is that the objects from “imported” tab, were missing, but they were in the scene, but I was unable to select them.
Please refrain from doing this process since this will cause file corruption and errors such as being unable to save the file normally. If the file you were working on was saved successfully, it should appear in the “Recent” Tabs, given that you have logged in to your account.
- Can you access the file version history of your file this way? If you can, please open it and save that file normally. That should be your main file now.
If none of your projects appear in the recent tab, please send these files:
- Log File - How to use Support Tool? | User Manual
- CSV File - This file in the D5 config directory is used to document the recent project.
You may also send us your D5 Render Scene file. Please send it to support@d5techs.com and have it titled ‘Clov-Forum Stuck at 0% when saving.’
Thank you. I sent it to you.
