Strange reflection behaviour

This is strange behaviour.

At point 1, it is a direct reflection and no glass in between the glass of the reflection and the picture of the mountains outside. The door is slightly opened at this point.

At point 2, there is glass again, and no reflection.

But at point 3 and 4 it is one or two more reflections (bounces) and the picture of the mountain is visible again.

EDIT:
In the preview window, the first reflections (1 and 2) work and 3 and 4 dont appear, but the last two I understand.

Hi friend,

D5 now only support 1 glass reflection in front of you is to ensure quick rendering and less calculation.

If you still want to do that view, you probably need to delete the first glass, sorry for the inconvenience at this monment. we will try our best to make this situation better in the future.

Bruce

Hi mate, if you have multiple layer of glass material overlapped in the viewport, only the one closest to the camera will have reflection; while others will lose details of reflection. It is currently a limitation by design, we may improve it in future.

@Oliver.J and @Bruce.W

Let me make the situation more clear.

1 and 2 are visible in the preview window, 3 and 4 are not. This is logical because of resources during preview.

But in the final render, 1 , 3 and 4 are visible and 2 isn’t, even though 3 and 4 have an extra bounce and 2 used to be visible in the preview.

So this is not normal/correct behaviour and should be fixed.

EDIT:
Even more explanation
1 is a bounce via the glass in front of the camera, directly to the mountainimage (visible in preview AND render)

2 is a bounce via the glass in front of the camera, THROUGH glass behind the camera towards the mountain image (visible in preview NOT in render)

3 and 4 are both bouncing at the glass in front of the camera and the glass visible next to it, then moving THROUGH the glass behind the camera towards the mountain image. (visible in render but NOT in preview)

After ten days still no reply? :frowning:
