Stage Light & Live Sync Textures folder 2.6

Hello everyone,

I would like to know if there is a way to place a stagelight in SketchUp using the new feature of grouped export and the asset replacement. Can I create a proxy of a stagelight in SketchUp and export it into D5, and then replace it with a real stagelight? is my thinking.

Regarding Live Sync Textures, I know it has been around since version 2.5. My question is, when D5 sees the folder containing all the textures for the current model, does it recognize them as D5 parameters from the asset library or materials saved in D5? I want to know if I can use the same textures/materials in SketchUp and avoid laboriousliy adding the same parameters in D5 for each project.

Thank you in advance,

Chris

Hi @Cmeed,

D5 currently does not support using proxy models and replacing them. You can only add four kinds of D5 light sources in SU. If you want to use stage lights, you can only go into D5 and add them again.

D5 2.6 added material template recognition function. After importing the model in the scene, select the model in the object list on the left sidebar, right click and choose AI Material Match, it will automatically give the suitable D5 material template, covering most of the commonly used material keywords and texture types, and achieve intelligent recognition without waiting under the premise of guaranteeing the recognition rate. But it doesn’t support directly replacing the materials in the D5 assets library, and the D5 assets library can’t be exported to other software for use, because they are encrypted.
