SketchUp with D5.. objects with the same material become merged

Hi there, I’m facing a problem where i do my modelling in SketchUp and everybody uses sketchup knows that we are dealing with groups of furniture- walls … etc

my main work is for designing kitchens and waredrobes
anyway, whenever i render the design, every 2+ objects with the same material become merged as one item/object

is there anything to do to get around this problem?

Hi @alhilalqa

  • You may need to differentiate the materials of different surfaces if you’re planning to assign them to other surface materials in D5. After bringing the model to D5, you can click the Material Picker tool to select it, or use the “I” shortcut.
  • If you want these parts of the model to be separated by group, you need to export them in this manner.
