Earlier this year D5 introduced a silent command-line installation for bulk installation and multi-machine deployments:
The documentation has not been updated with the release of the new D5 Launcher. Can we please get an update on this capability and how to manage installations going forward? As true with many AEC organizations, our users do not have admin permissions on their devices and the ability to silently install the software is a very necessary component that I sincerely hope is still possible and has not been abandoned.
If the D5 Launcher isn’t installed, you have two options:
Upgrade directly to version 2.11 via the command line.
Download the full installer package from the official website. The Launcher will automatically download during the D5 Render installation via the command line.
If the Launcher is already installed, follow the same steps: either a command-line upgrade or download the installer and install via the command line.
Where can I download the full installer package for 2.11 so that I can upgrade via the command line? All the download links on the website now just seem to point to the launcher install executable.
