Severe jaggStriping / banding artifacts appearing on shaded surfaces in real-time viewport

Hello,

I am experiencing striping / banding artifacts on shaded surfaces in the real-time viewport.

The issue appears as visible stripe or triangular band patterns across smooth surfaces.
It is not limited to shadow areas.

Important observations:

  • The striping appears on both mesh and closed polysurface geometry.
  • The geometry is clean in Rhino.
  • The pattern moves when I rotate or move the camera.
  • It does not seem to be a UV or modeling issue.
  • Adjusting shadow settings does not resolve the problem.

The artifact looks like a rendering-related issue rather than a geometry problem.

System information:
D5 version: [version]
GPU: [GPU model]
Driver version: [driver version]
Raytracing: ON/OFF
DLSS: ON/OFF

Screenshots are attached for reference.

Could you please advise what might be causing this striping artifact?

Thank you.

Hi @dz21022

Apologies for the inconvenience caused. Could you please clarify a few key points:

  1. Which D5 Render version are you using?
  2. Does the issue still occur in a simple test scene with just basic geometry and smooth materials?
  3. Are the affected surfaces using normal maps, procedural textures, or displacement?
  4. Does the striping appear only in the viewport, or also in the final render?

Thank you, and I look forward to your response.
