Scene Setting, after not saving

Hey,

I’m just wondering if there is an easy solution for when you do a load of scene setting updates, and then instead of click on the update button, you click the scene, and it reverts back to the original setting. I’m new to D5 but have done this a couple of times now and it’s a massive pain when you have to go throug the setting all over again.

Any help would be great.

as far as i know, D5 has that workflow to click on update when ever u do desire changes in environment or camera parameters.

Hi, yer you can click on it to update and that saves the changes, and you can copy parameter to other scene, but if you do a load of changes, and in the process you have moved around you’re camera position, if you want to go back to the scene to then update, it resets the settings, does that make sense. It might just be that I need to remember this, but was hoping it wasn’t the case?

yes your are right, this is biggest flaw. in terms of workflow.
i used Lumion for long time, d5 should implement good things from Lumion.

Ah ok, so it wasn’t me missing something this is in fact how it works. Yer seems crazy you don’t get like a settings thing that you can save and then reload in other jobs for instance. I use Enscape and that system works well with setting and updating. I know it’s only a small thing, but it can be so annoying when you have to go through and do it all over again!

they should add individual edit mode and camera mode where things can be intact, like in Lumion. that workflow should come in D5. No doubt D5 is far far better in reflection and shadow than Lumion, but UI is most important part when we look professional software.

hi henry,
i found funny tricky way for this workaround for time being. when u move around scene to tweak anything and made changes in environment. after when u r done, u want changes to be updated but camera should be intact. just click on create new scene. then copy parameters and paste to ur original scene.

Hello! Thanks for your advice. In version 2.6, we gathered the camera and scene lists. As a result, there will be differences in the current way of using them from when they were in 2.5. Currently parameter changes you make after entering Advanced Camera Mode will be retained, regardless of whether you clicked Update or not. If you want to keep the lens the same, but change other parameters, you can go into Advanced Camera and make parameter adjustments. If you have any suggestions about the current camera design, you can leave your ideas in the forum. Latest Ideas & Requests topics - D5 RENDER FORUM
