I’ve been watching the latest tutorial on D5, and I noticed that at some point after applying the scatter preset, it was limited to camera view in the scene. The tutorial did not explain how to achieve this optimization. I’ve been looking around, but I just can’t find it in the scatter setting.
Anyone know how to achieve this?
Awwww. Sorry guys. I just realized that they just cut the ground object approximately aligned to camera view . But it would really really nice to have this optimization feature unless it is automatically calculated by D5 to exclude unseen scatter objects from memory consumption. And also it would be nice to limit the extent of and detail of scatter objects based on the specified distance from the camera in case you have a larger lawn object. But yes, splitting the ground object is also good approach.
Honestly what I am missing is this forest pack feature but I am no longer interested in going back to it. D5 is a killer.
Hi there,
Are you perhaps familiar with the “Level of Detail” and “Cull Distance” features? Correct me if I am wrong but it seems to be similar to what you were looking for. Thank you.
