when we do a save as, does it consolidate everything ? it seems there still have link to other files on the hard drive, i’m not sure everything is inside the folder to make an archive
Hello, the archive consolidates everything, no matter you use “Save” or “Save as”.
If you sync models into D5, they will be converted into d5a file and be saved in the scene files.
But, there are still links to other files, like you mentioned, which are written in the scene file.
If you move the scene file to another place, and you do not want to edit the model itself anymore, then there is no need to care the link in D5 to the model.
If you move the scene file to another place or computer, and you need to edit the model and resync into D5, then you should open the modeling software and use the plugin to sync to the D5 scene file again.

So when we do a save at the end of a project, just to make an archive, we just have to save the whole folder and that’s ok to render other views.
That’s cool.
I understand of course that sources files must be save manually if we need to edi them.
Just to know, there is no way to export a d5 into a fbx to edit if necessary ?
Yes, we do not support export fbx or edit models in D5 Render. But we may add this feature in the future.
