RTX 4080 vs RTX 3080

Hi There - has anyone moved to a 4080 RTX card recently and would like to share the performance improvements? I am deciding to upgrade. Some websites suggest it has double the performance on some test render benchmark software.

Has the D5 team manage to test the new RTX 4080?

Any info would be welcomed. Thank you!

Hi mate, you can check the test result submitted by other D5 users.
D5 Render

Yeah, it is close to double the performance of 3080

That sounds promising!

I notice that the DSSL has been replaced by Supersampling. What is the difference?

Also will D5 take advantage of the DLSS 3 on the new RTX 4080 series?

Thank you.

I Oliver - unless I am missing something but according to the bench mark there is not a huge difference? Only about 8sec?

Hi mate, yeah, because the image rendering is already very fast, so the difference is not huge.
You can view the video rendering time, the difference will be larger.

For NVIDIA gpu, there are no differences between super sampling and DLSS. Because Super Sampling includes NVIDIA DLSS and Intel XeSS. For GPU that cannot use DLSS, we will launch XeSS.

I am not sure when we will support DLSS 3, it looks great though.
