Rhino different materials exported as 1 single material to D5

I’m using d5 converter with rhino
every thing was working properly … but after a minor change in model and syncing
suddenly with no reason all of my material appear to become 1 single material
every thing is different in rhino
iv tried every thing i could
and I’m really confused

Hello, did you group all the models? If yes, you can try exploding them.

Besides, maybe you can check the material they use; if all of them use layer materials, and some of them may be not supported by D5 Converter. You can try applying different materials to the model then sync again.

If the problem persists, please let me know, or you can contact support@d5techs.com directly.

Thanks,
Oliver

I have the same problem. Was not using D5 during summer break, but now once back some of my materials from my rhino model are considered as one and the same material and are given the same blank texture… I can start all over again.

When I sync my newest rhino model with an older backup D5 file, I have the same problem.

Even when I start a completely new D5 project and sync with my newest rhino model, the same materials are being shown in D5 as one and the same blank material.

How can I solve this? I already tried renaming these materials to no effect

Hi @studiomaybebxl,

Apologies for running you into this issue. I am here to help you figure this out but first I need to know some important details.

  1. Have you layered all the models differently in Rhino in preparation for D5 sync?
  2. Did you apply the material on D5 or Rhino?
  3. Are all the materials applied on D5 gone or just only specific materials?
  4. What Rhino version you are using?
  5. What is your current livesync plugin?
  6. Was your file saved locally or through the cloud?

Thank you and I will be waiting for your response.

Thank you, I answered here:
