Is there a way to batch export from the render queue and overwrite previous image exports from the Render Queue. The goal is to have new export overwrite previous ones so linked images in InDesign update automatically without needing to relink to new file names that d5 renames upon export currently. This is a very typical workflow in AEC to export images that are already sheeted and linked into presentation files.
Unfortunately, batch exports that instantly or automatically overwrite the previous file names or scenes is not yet possible, you may need to manually select each rendered scene to replace the previous image.
However, I do agree that having this feature in the future may be significant considering that these rendered images are usually brought to another software for further post-processing, and in your case, InDesign (for graphic layouting or such). I’ll be forwarding this suggestion to my team.
It’s been over a year since this was discussed. Is this on the roadmap for implementation? I agree with the original poster - it’s incredibly annoying having to relink multiple images into Photoshop to blend original + AI Enhancer + Style Transfers, etc, for multiple views. I’m better off abandoning the Render Queue and just rendering one view at a time so I can control the file naming myself.
At the moment, there are no plans to implement this feature in the next version of D5 Render. However, I understand how this would improve your workflow, and I’ve escalated your request to our product team for further consideration in future updates.
