there is still hope. pathtracing was also under review and was implemented overnight in another update. so the actual offset might also be something similar.

Thanks. This feature is currently in development and is planned for the next version. We will post an update here as soon as it’s ready for beta testing. :saluting_face:

If you have scenarios that uses real displacement materials and would like to help shape its development, feel free to send me the model and texture maps via PM. We’ll use these assets for internal visual and performance testing to ensure better compatibility for real user cases.

can we have Triplanar be an option in displacement as well and not just custom material

As a power user, I’d love to see this feature implemented, but I’m not holding my breath just yet. A simple—though time-consuming—workaround is to use Blender or 3ds Max to displace the geometry, then export and import the model into D5 with the displacement baked in. When paired with a proper PBR workflow, the result is effectively the same.

Real dispacement require dense model tessalation.
