Random sparkles/fireflies in previews

I’m getting some very odd light sparkles when I’m in ‘precise’ preview mode, they disappear when I render models but they are quite annoying when I’m trying to balance lighting levels for evening scenes. Does anyone know what is causing this for me?

I believe this is due to the ray tracing feature, which is something that improves over time. We can be glad that we already have real-time ray tracing, while other software relies on path tracing, which isn’t real-time.

Perhaps we’ll see path tracing in version 3.0.

It’s important to keep in mind that these sparkles are likely caused by the ray tracing.

I never used to have this issue with the previous two versions of D5 which I ran on an old PC with a basic RTX3060Ti GPU

Maybe show a screen recording?

Image or video always help to understand the issue.
I do know sometimes stuff can depend on the material in d5.

Hi there, please does this issue occur in all projects or only a specific project since you got the new computer? Could you please share the system information of your computer as shown in the attached image.

It’s on every project and I think it’s where emissive materials reflect off another surface that it seems to cause an issue. I also have a problem with dynamic assets such as trees blowing in the wind which look blurry.

Hi @3DG, please if you are still experiencing this issue, kindly perform a clean installation of your graphic drivers and let us know if the issue persists. Apologies for the inconvenience.

I updated the driver (clean install) as shown below and I previously switched from the gaming drivers to the studio drivers to see if that made a difference, but the problem persists.

I tried screen recording but I don’t know how to share it here; it didn’t allow me to paste in a brief mp4 file
