I’ve updated to 2.9 but notice that when I go into ‘Fly’ mode, the Q and E buttons no longer work. W,A,S,D all seem to work fine but not Q nor E. Never had this problem before until 2.9.
Also noticing that pre 2.9, in Fly mode, the screen directions at the bottom of the screen read as WSADEQ, now they read WSADQQ.
Hi @jecete, please may I know your current region and the keyboard layout you are using. QWERTY OR AZERTY?
We are aware of some keyboard shortcut issues faced by users specifically on the AZERTY layout and we’ll be providing a fix for this very soon. Apologies for the inconvenience.
Australia and I am using a qwerty keyboard. As noted, this has only started happening in 2.9. Went back to 2.8, Q and E behave as expected.
Went into Preferences>Shortcuts>FlyMode and it seems that both Up and Down defaulted to Q. That seems to be the problem. I hit the reset buttons for both and the problem has been resolved.
Hi there, I’m glad the problem has been resolved. Please did you customise your shortcuts earlier? Maybe you assigned the letter Q and E to a different function?
We need to know exactly what led to the issue to prevent such from happening in the future.
Yes, we had customised the shortcuts in earlier versions of D5. Basically, we swapped the shotcuts for Q and E. However, when we had previoulsy updated to newer versions of D5, the customisation did carry over to the newer version. It is only at 2.9 that we seem to encounter the issue.
Thanks for the update. Our team is working on solving this issue and there’ll be a fix version soon. Please restore all shortcuts and follow the Qwerty layout for the moment.
Thanks for the update. I just tested it on another PC. The behavior is the same. It’s interesting to note that in v2.8 within the preferences, when typing ‘Z’, it gets interpreted as ‘Y’ in the input field, but it still translates correctly within the app itself, as if it overrides the keyboard layout. In version 2.9, however, the app treats ‘Z’ as ‘Y’ and you have to manually swap them in the preferences; it does not follow the keyboard layout (QWERTZ in my case). There is nothing to restore, the shortcuts are the standard ones.
