Project loading takes too long & crashes while exporting 360 pano

Hi, i’m using D5 2.8 and working on a big commercial project with 11 tower & amenities. Every time I open the file it takes about 30-35 min just to load the file, and as soon as I try to do a 360 render it crashes.

Any suggestions?

Hi @lokesh.d, It is most likely that your file is too heavy or overloaded. Please does the crash happen only on a particular scene? We’ll like to know your VRAM AND RAM usage while running the scene, please share a screenshot of the statistics as shown in the image below.

Hi @Anthony_D5,

I am sharing the screen shots of the stats when I load the project vs when I put a scene on render - panorama/4k

It crashed when I was putting it on export

Hi @lokesh.d ,
From the screenshots provided, we can see that you’re using over 90% of your GPU resources while working on the scene. Please note that your GPU becomes unstable at over 80% usage and may result in D5 crashing.

Please I’ll recommend the following steps to optimize your scene.

Reduce Polygon Count: To simplify models with a high number of polygons, use tools or plugins within your 3D modeling software to reduce polygon counts without significantly affecting the visual quality.

Optimize Textures:
Reduce the resolution of high-resolution textures if they do not contribute much to the scene from the normal viewing distance.
Use compressed texture formats.
Ensure textures are appropriately sized; large textures consume more GPU resources.

Use Proxies: For complex objects like trees, people, or furniture, use proxy models in the scene while working, and switch to high-detail models only during final rendering.

Limit the Use of Effects: Effects such as reflections, shadows, and lighting can be very demanding on resources. Adjust their quality settings:

Scene Management:
Hide or remove objects that are not visible in the camera’s view.
Use layers to manage visibility and complexity, enabling and disabling them as needed.

Adjust Render Settings:
Lower the output resolution while working and only use high resolutions for final renders.
Adjust the quality settings temporarily for interactive work.

Close Background Applications: Ensure no unnecessary applications are running in the background that could be using GPU resources.

Thank you for the suggestion. So as per my current workflow, i model the scene in revit & then sync it in max, any suggestions/plugins on how to reduce the poly count would be really helpfull.
