Good morning to you.
Unfortunately I’m having serious and onerous problems, of various types with D5 RENDER, I would like to ask you if there are possible control checks for the file I’m working on.
I have a computer with AMD 5950X, NVIDIA RTX FE 3090, 65 Giga Ram DDR4.
So a PC without compromises.
(I have twin machines, I could try the file on both…)
Before importing, the native 3DS max file weighs approximately 4.526 Giga
It is a complex Residence, the modeling contains models created correctly, and the subdivison instances used for the Architectural Arcades help to raise the polygons, but without exaggeration.
Once “worked” in D5 Render, the file increases to weigh 14.4 gigabytes. (Weight largely caused by the ASSET folder, not just the file…)
I list the problems found in D5 RENDER.
- The passage between the “BRUSH RECORDS” phase and “normal” management is extremely problematic.
The file hangs for a very long time, and on some occasions I had to restart the software.
Very normal “test” renders in 2K provide 60 minute waiting instances, which then become 30 or 40 effective.
Too many for a real time that in optimal conditions generates an 8K in 6 / 8 minutes.
All this, when always with the same file in the recent past everything flowed properly.
I rolled back to the Nvidia Drivers you recommended.
Working fluidity is “fair”, especially with the low resolution real-time preview, but unexpected blocks, especially when you switch to and returning from the brush records phase, they are unfortunately burdensome and numerous.
The ERBA creation phases (Brush, grass models, total or partial filling) are very long, and often lead to the software crashing.
A one hour job becomes 5, such a situation is not sustainable.
Is there a script to run the job file through, to track down any problems?
In the D5 file there are instances and materials taken from your database, as well as external elements converted to D5 render format.
I have a doubt.
3DS max, in some cases, suffers from the presence of 3D ASSETS imported from resource sites, which from a weight of a few megabytes, in saving, are transformed into several gigabytes, all resolved with the PURGE script by Max.
Could it be one of these files, imported in D5 format, that got out of my control, slowing down the work phases with blocks that are often fatal for the work session?
I tested D5 render with your “demo” file of the spash page, the LIVING with the sofa, and completed a 2K render in 22 seconds flat.
But it must be said that it is a very light file.
Thank you very much for your possible feed back.
