Are there any news on implementing Path Tracing?
I feel like D5 is so much better than other softwares when it comes to building a scene but the rendered images fall short when compared to softwares using path tracing

I mean at this point it’s a shame.
The official D5-Team says nothing about it. If its currently being worked on or just left in the dust for now…
Poor communitcation and I hope for a big lighnting, caustic etc. update for Version 3.0
I’ve seen some leaked images from the demo showing that the next update will have pathtracing
sauce pliz
Sorry but without a source I won’t believe anything. So if you may come forward with a link, this would be nice!
in beta there is atm yes
Staff have posted on the D5 discord forum that they are in beta for the next version 2.10 and it will have Pathtracing option if you want to use it .
Where is that to find? I’m on the discord-server. Can’t seem to find it
check the general chat section . Anthony from D5 staff just posted about it again. Someone asked if we have pathtracing for next version
There’s a reason why this thread is popular. Every other arc-viz render suite has a path tracing option in 2024-25. We need this feature. Its hard to implement surely. Its a fundamental feature at this point.
Yes. I hope we hear from this soon cause I have been waiting for this feature for so long. Everything else has been good so far. When the next update for this tho. Can’t wait any longer
I am thinking they will release the new version by the end of the month since they have been beta testing. Next version will have pathtracing.
Thats bullshit: “8-12 is always enough” then he never really used tm. When going with nightshots with pathtracer on minimal lightning I need 2048 samples and 32 or 64 bounces. Even on 8K. There is a huge quality improvement. So don’t take everything someone says for granted. Still waiting for path-tracer, but I guess I will give up on that…
download 2.10 theres path tracing… just the beginnings but it’s better than nothing
I would like to add that making it a toggle in the display menu vs having to go into the rendering tab would be nice so if it’s on in the render tab it’s going to use it for rendering but then you’ll have 3 quality modes for the viewport which would be nice pending whats being done
hi @digital0785 , thank you for the feedback. Currently, Real-time Path Tracing is still an experimental (alpha) feature. We will continue to optimize it in future versions, including addressing the issue you raised regarding how to enable it.
Make a full path tracing like in Twinmotion, and in general I would like to take more features from there. I really like working with textures and scatter for imported objects.
