Path Tracing suddenly not available anymore?

Hello, so I was using D5 version 2.10 without any issues and suddenly now that I updated to 2.11 the pathtracing option and custom settings are gone. I don’t get any option to turn them on and I am stuck on the old GI. I just read the patch notes and it says AMD GPUs are no longer supported for real time path tracing. Why??? my GPU worked just fine in 2.10 and now I have to roll back to 2.10 and be stuck in that version since suddenly a feature was taken away. Will this be addressed in a hotfix?

Hi @piero.salazar94

Previously, there were several users who reported visual inconsistencies and errors with AMD and D5 Render. Our team has decided to temporarily disable path tracing (PT) for AMD users because the existing problems outweigh the benefits.

We can’t really give you a specific time frame as to when this will be restored but rest assured, we’re working on it. Thank you.

Same thing here. It was running perfectly in 2.10. I have an RX 6700 XT and I’m sad to know I can’t continue to enjoy this feature in 2.11. I hope there’s a hotfix soon, because waiting for the next update will be a pain.

i am using NVidia gpu and its still not showing

Clov,

I have a AMD CPU, but a NVIDIA GPU and path tracing seems to be disabled. Is it any AMD hardware that will make path tracing inaccessible right now?

Hi @jay907p @lakeandlandstudio

With NVIDIA GPU, Path Tracing is enabled by default with the new update. Disabling this option will have PT disabled too.
