Hi,

I dont understand what im doing wrong here. As per the preview i am able to see the lines for the road in sketch format but when i render the same image the lines for the roads donot come thru to the render.

Is it like a material defect? What could it be?
Also the rendering is in 16k.

Hi @anandmayank

I apologize for the inconvenience.

  • Were the roads generated via D5’s integration with OSM, or were they placed in your 3D modeling software?
  • Which Version of D5 Render are you using?
  • Does rendering without Outline Mode normally works?

Can you send us your file (It would be best for the D5 File and 3d Model File) for troubleshooting?

** Were the roads generated via D5’s integration with OSM, or were they placed in your 3D modeling software?*
They were formed from blender and not from D5. As D5 only allows 3.9kmx3.9km. and this context is developed using BLOSM for blender. You can use multiple 4kmx4km stretch from within the OSM data of D5, but somehow it was too much work.

** Which Version of D5 Render are you using?*
Latest version 2.10.1.0579

Sorry but it’s the first time I have tried this. Hence trying to understand how to make it work. The preview has the road lines where as the render doesn’t. So this is like a feed back to you on feature given but not working correctly. This outline mode can be used for conceptual visualizations. Can we look to fix it in next version? Or can you suggest some other method that can solve this issue. Thanks.

Sorry but my company does not allow the sharing of the files Clov. I can share screenshots if needed. Thanks for understanding.

Mayank

Another reason for not using the inbuilt D5 map is because i cannot add plants to the green marked zones. I cannot add scatter to them or brush on them like i can with the model brought in from blender.

^Ref showing selection of greenland from OSM of D5render but unable to add lowpoly trees on material.

Hence i had to resort to external source for my 3dmodel.

Hi @anandmayank

I understand that you can not send your files for testing. So I tried to replicate this issue on my end. I used Blender 4.2, used the plug-in that you have mentioned, and downloaded an OSM File which showcases the road and other buildings.

Replicating this file sending issue is critical, particularly as users are unable to send us files for testing. Successfully reproducing this problem will allow us to precisely identify its root cause. Could you please provide a detailed breakdown of the steps you took to replicate the issue?

This is what I did:

  • Installed BLOSM and generated a map with Road networks
  • Exported the Blender file using D5 Sync Plug-in
  • Enabled Outline Mode in D5 and Clay Model to make it seem like the result you had.
  • Rendered it and even tried AI Style Transfer

Thank you.

Indeed, this is currently a limitation on the new feature and will be further optimized in the future.

  • Another follow-up question: Have you tried rendering it lower than 16k? Please try it in 4k and see if it yields the same result.
  • Since you are unable to send us your file, can you generate a log file for us? We will try to inspect the log files and see if the root cause of this issue. You may send it to support@d5techs.com and have it titled ‘Clov-Forum OUTLINE Mode’

Thank you.

Maybe try with these settings, could be possible something with the distance and LOD.

I have also switched off most of the feature to be able to render.
I need to get this kind of a orthographic as well as perspective kind of a look.
