Hi all! First off, I just want to say I’ve been really impressed seeing the magic you all are working with D5. I’ve been doing ArchViz for about 25 years now, and am just delving into D5 coming from using 3DSMax / Corona render. I installed the latest launcher and went to open the first suggested tutorial video entitled “Master D5 in 10 Minutes” and also download the accompanying tutorial files at this link:
This downloaded a file called “10 Minute Beginner Tutorial”. I didn’t expect to hit a wall so quickly, but I can’t find the “model.fbx” file within this archive to import for use in the tutorial. Also, being new to the program, where should I be saving these tutorial files? Should I be copying them into my newly created D5Workspace folder? Apologies for the newbie questions, it’s kind of humbling jumping to a new piece of software and feeling totally lost! Thanks in advance for any help, I’d love to spend the weekend doing some lessons with the software.
Actually, you can add it to your Local Library (Workspace folder) too, or you can just create a dedicated separate folder for these models, just ensure that they are located purely in your local file path.
I appreciate your reply. Yes, that is the video I was referring to. The problem I am finding is that while the Tutorial video starts with importing a .FBX file to work with on the scene, the download link I have included above contains the finished scene file, but with no .FBX file within the archive so that a user can work along with the video to help create the finished scene. I’m excited to learn more about this program, even though I am just starting a couple of features have already left me blown away!
