i do not manage to make a custom animted car.
I’m working in cinema 4, i have simplfied my model the maximum.
If I export to alembic, i have the animation for my wheels, but I have to make only one object.
That way it’s working, but i have only one shader, even if in cinema4d i have tag selection.
If I create a null object to control the whole hierarchie, i can change my materils, but that way my wheels are not center correctly, they are all center below my car.
Than i will try to make custom animted people, i’m worried because a simple car doesn’t work.
In fbx, it works well, but i can’t have animation.
Is there a way for D import correct materials with fbx ? Or all materials have to be done inside D5 ?
If you can help with my wheem animation it would be great i don’t know how to do, all my tests are bads.
I tried by exporting fbx from c4d to blender, then convert to d5a, but i have an error
Hello, I have received your email and forwarded the model to our tech team. Soon we will have c4d plugin and a new Blender plugin which supports Blender2.93. But the problem may be because in D5 Render we do not support ABC file very well, although we will have some updates on it in the next version.

can you explain what is the process you used to make your vehicules or animated people ?
There are just few i need to create more custom assets (animated, no problem fox fixes assets)
I wanted to use anothe 3D software (3ds etc) to export my animation, but none seems to export animation, so i don’t understand how you manage to make some 3D animations compatible with d5. (maybe it’s not a process we can use for standard users like us ?)
you announced a c4d plugin soon (here and on other posts), will it be possible to export animation to d5 ?
do you have an approxilate relese date just to know if I have to find a workaround or maybe it will be available soon enough ?
We must not have any hierarchy.
Evertyhing have to be animated at the top of the file.
I don’t know if it will be possible to do for every object, but it worked for the moment for the car.
By the way @Oliver.J , would it be possible to add a reload button for abc files ?
It is not possible at the moment, but it is not possible to change materials on moving wheels. SO i put my materials on a fix car, then replace abc. But we can’t replace that file.
I add to go in d5 ressources files, that have encrypted names, to delete then replace my file from the fix one by the animated one, very tricky !!!
But it worked.
You should very think about make abc compatibility better, it’s really not easy that way.
Hello, you meant you only want to reload part of the ABC file, right? I am afraid that we do not have that feature for now.

The thing is, on your capture, it is a skp file.
I can reload or replace a skp/fbx/d5a file, but i can not for a abc file.
(by the way it would be really easier if we could resize the left column, with assets. It is really hard to find an object with lots of objet.
