I have a Dell Precision 7520 w/ i7 6th Gen 64GB ram and 5520 w/ i7 7th Gen 32GB ram. Both using eGPU with RTX 3080Ti. Pressing W,A,S,D resulted in a lag in movement. But, using my Dell XPS 13 i7 11th Gen and 16GB ram. The navigation is smooth using the W,A,S,D keys. But my XPS system memory is just too small to work on D5R. It eats up to almost 90% of the 16GB.
So I would like to see if the navigation can be improved using the Dell Precision. Please advise.
I also noticed with the D5 Render open. The navigation anomaly is also affecting my Revit. I’m using a 3DConnexion Spacemouse for Revit. But if I close the D5 Render. Revit navigation run smoothly with my Spacemouse. I hope the D5 Render team will look into this.
Hi mate, what version of video driver do you use on your two workstations? Please upgrade to 531.41 then check the result.
Besides, did the problem start to happen after 2.4 or not? Please check the Nvidia Control Panel to make sure D5 Render is running using the eGPU, not the integrated one on the workstation.
If the problem persists, feel free to contact us.
First time user of D5 Render and 2.4 is the first version I ever use.
Nvidia Control Panel sets the D5 Render to High-performance Nvidia processor.
Updated the driver to 531.41. Still the same result.

Just to share. nvidia driver 528.89 somehow solved the issue of my navigation performance. Now I can work with D5 Render on my Dell Precision 7520 and 5520 with a smile and no longer a frown.
