my scene just crashes. I’ve done a lot of editing and now when I want to add an object the scene crashes a few moments later. At the moment the entire scene folder is about 10gb. I would like to know how to make it more fluid and reduce the weight of the scene.
Hi wintext77, perhaps there is a way to lighten the D5 files, I and a colleague talked about how D5 cleans up the work you are doing, I’ll give you the reference of the discussion.
I see, but from 10G to 8.35G, something has done, it means that you have several components that you have transferred from the graphics program you use to that of D5. I don’t want to be pessimistic, the solution is upstream. I don’t know the scope of your work, I can tell you to move more easily you have to remove the view on D5 from realism to the less detailed one without shadows and texture graphics, you can do this by switching from Precise to Smooth
i will try to see the effect on the scene. thanks
You’re welcome, I hope you can work in this way, in the end this thing happened to me too, and for a long time I’ve been careful not to have such large files, sometimes it’s the objects we put in the graphics that are complex. with many faces to have the most realistic object possible, but this increases the size of the graphics files. So, you have to be careful what you load and what size it is. There are many methods that you can now make sure that the file is lighter, one of which is to use, as many programs do, a geometric shape for that object, such as a parallelepiped which is actually a chair or a tree , what I’m saying D5 does.
Here he talks about it at the beginning of the video when he has to put palm trees around the pool, if you use SketchUp, he gives you this possibility.
I salute you. Good work
I hope clear data helped you. I think in addition to this, you could try reducing the use of high precision textures and plants in the scene. For plants and grasses that are in the distance, you could try replacing them with mapping.
thanks.
please how to do the mapping?
Hi, grass mapping just use PBR I’ll post a video from channel D5
As for the mappings, there are many sites to download them, I’ll give you a hand
These are in 2K but can be had in different sizes
