Hello D5 Support Team,
I am experiencing an intermittent issue with D5 Render where the viewport becomes transparent and displays my Windows desktop wallpaper instead of the 3D scene. The D5 user interface remains visible, including the Scene List, toolbar, and Environment panel, but the rendering viewport disappears.
System Information
- D5 Render Version: [Please insert your version]
- Revit Version: Autodesk Revit 2026
- Operating System: Windows 11
- Laptop: HP Victus
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 (6 GB)
- Display Setup: Two external monitors plus the laptop display (3 displays total)
Issue Description
- The issue occurs randomly during normal work.
- Sometimes it happens while using LiveSync with Revit, and occasionally while working directly in D5.
- The Scene List still shows the imported Revit model and other objects, but the viewport displays my Windows desktop wallpaper instead of the rendered scene.
- D5 does not always crash, but the viewport is unusable until I restart D5.
What I Have Checked
- Windows Graphics Settings are configured to use the High Performance GPU.
- NVIDIA RTX 4050 is being used.
- GPU drivers are up to date.
- The issue still occurs intermittently.
Questions
- Is this a known issue with D5 Render?
- Could this be related to DirectX, GPU driver resets, or multi-monitor configurations?
- Are there any recommended graphics settings or NVIDIA Control Panel settings to improve stability?
- Are there any log files that I can provide to help diagnose the problem?
I have attached a screenshot showing the issue, where the D5 interface is visible but the viewport displays the Windows desktop instead of the rendered scene.
