if I import a large file it stays on 9%
If I import a small model it crashes .
I have the latest driver installed . Do i need a new graphic card?

Sorry to hear that you ran into this problem, first we need to figure out whether the problem happened to all files or a specific one, maybe the scene is too large for GTX1080 to load.
Can you open a new empty scene, or the demo scene Living room, in D5 Render?
If yes, then the problem is with the scene file( the large file you mentioned)
Please compress it and send to us, we would see whether we can repro the issue or recover the file.
About the crash issue, it is the same as above. If you can import other models, then the problem is with that specific one, and you could send it to us for further troubleshooting.
