I have a project I’m working on. I’ve just opened the project after having a couple of hours away from the screen, and it seems like all material maps have disappeared from the project. It seems objects that are in the base sketchup model, have retained their texture (kitchen, TV cabinet) but anything dragged in via D5 is now plain, aprart from some things, it’s not consistent.
What can I do, how can I recover things. I have a previous file which still works, but I’ve made substantial updates since. See attached a test render I did this morning, and now what the project look likes when I open it. This is critical as I was meant to be sending first round of renders in the morning.
No it’s the same sketchup file. It just seems like D5 has lost the file paths to all the materials, even those which are D5 assets. For example the plant in the corner is a D5 asset. If I drop the asset in again, the new one comes in with all the materials, but for some reason the original is just grey and stays grey.
Yer the workspace folder hasn’t been touched, unless there is a way to change this without knowing it? I have opened up my old file and just re working everything again as I have to hit this deadline. My worry is that it starts happening again and on other projects.
Have you tried looking at File: View History Version to see the backups? You might not be able to salvage what you last saved you might be able to recover some work. I’ve used it before with recent crashes in D5.
Heya, yer I had tired the history version, I had hope as the little thumbnail showed all the materials, but once it was open it had the same issue as the broken one. I’ve been working on my older file now, and touch wood it seems fine, have opened and closed it a couple times just to check!
