First off, I want to express how excited I am about D5. Coming from a background in Enscape, Lumion, Vray, and Corona, I’m genuinely impressed by its rapidly growing feature set and the pace of its development.
I’m currently wrapping up my first real project using D5, but I’m facing some major quality issues with my render outputs. All images look kind of rough, almost like they’ve been through a bad AI upscaler, with a lot of blurry, splotchy, wavy, or grainy areas, particularly noticeable with my grass textures and scatters. It almost resembles severe image compression. Even rendering at 8K doesn’t seem to help much. Some views are better than others, but most are still quite disappointing from a quality standpoint. This is really noticeable when trying to render an orthographic plan view, even at 16K, which looks very low res and pixelated (these types of images render much cleaner and sharper in Enscape or Lumion).
I’m not sure what to do since there aren’t many quality settings available. I’ve tried toggling Super Resolution on and off without any noticeable effect. Is this a bug, a scene scale issue, or just normal for D5’s current render quality? I’m really hoping it’s a solvable issue (fingers crossed!). Thanks in advance for any help or advice!

Welcome to D5 Renders. I apologize for the issues you are encountering. Blurriness, splotchiness, and low image quality can be caused by D5 SR (Super Resolution) being turned on. Could you please make sure it is turned off and try again to see if this resolves the issue?
Another possible cause could be GPU driver compatibility. While this is not a common issue, we have encountered it in the past. Please reinstall your driver by following the steps below and perform a “clean installation.” You can reinstall the same version or update to the latest one, but be sure to select the “clean installation” option.
Hi Maslu! Boy, thanks a lot for the advice and for getting back to me so quickly! I updated my drivers, which did seem to do the trick, and I was actually able to make my project deadline today thank to your help! Much appreciated!
Btw, I installed Nvidia’s latest Studio drivers, but wasn’t sure if you guys recommend that or the Game Ready drivers. Does it matter any?
Cheers!
Adrian
P.S. Here’s a few of the final renders. I ended up rendering everything out of 8k to help with some persistent aliasing issues. Thank goodness D5 is so fast that I can actually render out an 8k image in just a few minutes (and with a 910 million poly scene!)
