Hello,
I’m having an issue with my Local Assets library and I’m trying to understand what happened.
I have many custom assets saved in the Local section of D5 Render. These are objects that I previously imported, assigned materials, adjusted lighting, and then saved to my Local library for quick reuse.
Recently, I copied my entire D5 Workspace folder to an external HDD because I wanted to continue working on a laptop. After that, I opened D5 Launcher on the laptop and changed the Workspace path to the copied Workspace folder on the external drive.
Everything seemed fine, but when I opened the Assets → Local tab, all of my previously saved Local Assets were gone. The Local library is completely empty.
My questions are:
- Are Local Assets stored entirely inside the Workspace folder, or is part of the library information stored somewhere else (AppData, database files, etc.)?
- If the asset files still exist inside the Workspace folder, is there a way to rebuild or reconnect the Local library?
- Does D5 store Local Asset metadata/index files separately from the Workspace?
- Has anyone successfully migrated a Workspace and Local Asset library from one computer to another, and if so, what files/folders need to be copied?
I copied the Workspace folder exactly as it was and then redirected D5 Launcher to the new location, so I expected my Local Assets to appear automatically.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
