Link educational account on new device

A few days ago I reset my laptop by putting a new solid drive in it, so it happens that now after installing the d5 rendering engine and trying to log in, it tells me to log in on my linked device, but since I reset my laptop I wouldn’t know how to do it. , because then, my linked device is this but it is not actually linked?

Hi @e1315499630,

Sorry for your situation. ‘During the period of validity, only one device can be bound to your Edu account. You can’t change the device or some specific hardware.’ We have specified this on the official website, and changing or adding HDD will also result in not being able to log in. You can apply for a new educational license after the current one is expired. Thank you for your understanding.

And how long is that supposed to take?

Hi! Normally, the educational license period is 180 days. :heart_hands:

I’m sorry for reviving this forum but does this include GPU upgrades as well? I’m planning to upgrade from a RTX 3050 6GB to a RTX 5060 TI 16GB.

Hi @jrranastacio

Changing the bound device—including its hardware—is not permitted. This will result to not being able to log in to your Education account. If you want to use the new GPU, we recommend re-applying for a license after your current one expires. Thank you.
