Is it possible to link lights so that changes that occur to one happen to others globally?
Hi, if I understand correctly you are asking if you can create different scenes with different lighting, in this case also with ambient lighting. In every scene you create, you can have different ambient lighting, both external and internal, you just have to do it this way. The scene, having an internal environment with lights with emissive material, the lamp object that is positioned in your graphics project, must be replaced with one of D5, that is, the lamp or spot object, created by you, must be of two types, one on and the other off, and imported into D5, then positioned them in the right coordinates. When you create the first scene with the lamps or spots turned on, you will place them in a single Layer. That is, the lamp object, those on Layer 1, those off Layer2, when you adjust the lighting to be artificial in a nocturnal environment, you will have Layer1 on and Layer 2 off, therefore, you save the first scene. Then, to have a second daytime scene, with the natural environment, just turn off Layer 1 and turn on Layer2, to always reiterate the object of the lamp, without prejudice to the second scene. In this case you have two scenes with different lighting, you can do the same thing with the artificial lighting of the D5 program, just see and insert them on the Layers, and name them for the lights you will insert. So, in each saved scene you can turn the lights off and on, and create different lighting environments, just save the scene you created.
I hope I have helped you.
Thank you for the feedback. That is a feature I’ve recently been using and is very beneficial.
However, I should’ve explained my inquiry with more detail I apologize. If I have 4 lamps and the light source in each lamp is the same is it possible to link all 4 of those lights together so that modifying the attributes of one light will affect all 4 at the same time? I model in Sketchup and this is called components. Any change applied within one component affects all other components.
Hi, yes just make group of those lights. And when u select group and modify changes apply to all lights in group.
