lighting not showing up

Hello World,

Im having trouble with some lighting showing up on my scenes.

No matter how intense my light is, it doesn’t seem to be having any effect on my scene (see attached image “scene1”)

The lighting only works when it is cutting through a wall (see attached image “scene2”)

Hi @shizhara1

This behavior is usually related to lighting setup and exposure, rather than the light itself not working. In many cases, camera exposure or environment lighting (HDRI / Sun & Sky) can overpower artificial lights, making their effect appear negligible.

May I ask whether this area has an open ceiling or a ceiling plane with an emissive material applied?

Based on your screenshot, it appears that the spotlight’s effect is being overpowered by the light coming from above, which would explain why the artificial light is not visibly affecting the scene.

Hello, thank you for replying so fast!

This scene has a section plane.

Attached is an image where the environment is “geosky” and set to night time. The lighting issue is still the same with these settings.

Hi @shizhara1

Thank you for the additional details and the attached image.

Regarding the scene, could you please check this plane here? It appears to be emissive, which could be the reason why the rectangle light does not seem to appear.

To help isolate the issue, I suggest testing the rectangle light in an enclosed area with no other bright or emissive objects present. Please let me know the results once you’ve tested this. Thank you for your patience.
