Light from both side

Hi,

There should be an option in D5 rectangle light to emit light from both sides. like the one nearly all renders have. it will be very useful.

Hi, this video shows you how to use the rectangular light as a spot by inserting them and giving the angle on the sides to make the light cone

Hi do you mean the Rectangular Light option should have an IES similar to IES 05 of Spot light?

yes. Exactly but without using any IES.
A simple rectangular light must give light from both sides.

Hi, give it the thickness and the name of the LED light type material, select it and go to the materials in the library where the light material is

Hi, thanks for providing us with screenshots to better understand your point since D5’s rectangle light only includes illumination on a single side, we will be working to improve it further. Perhaps putting this suggestion in Ideas & Request would also be best. Thank you~

Hi, if you don’t want to do it with the emissive material you can also do it with the D5 light, that is, you create two long lights one above the other, one that illuminates downwards and the other upwards. Then you create a group of these two lighting elements, so you can copy it and put it wherever you want in multiple places and adjust them just by selecting the group.

It’s a shame that it can’t be saved in the room, so to speed up you would have this type of lighting right away, you can just create the group and then paste it wherever you want.

Hi, You made me understand the solution to avoid the obstacle in the last message posted.

Thank you!

yes. Finally I did the same thing, but it would be great if we have the 2 way light feature.
The disadvantage of this process is the number of lights increase in the scene. Having the 2 way lights will reduce the number of lights used in the scene.

I agree with this being improper not only with these lights and also spacing out the beam, but also with the spots and other lighting sources, activating it when needed to illuminate the facade of a building, for example, we will have fewer spots or LEDs in the program. I hope they will make this option in the next update, it would give an extra boost, but they also need to improve the emission.

Hi, thank you for your input and suggestions regarding how we can better improve this; I am also going to forward your feedback to my team. Again, thank you so much~

An other small but very useful suggestion is, if D5 Team can make it possible…
Rectangular light have a Rectangular Gizmo and also have the option to make the source visible if required. Similarly, Spot light must have a gizmo of circular disk and should have the option to make source visible.

and

In all lights parameter there should be an ON/OFF button for shadows, which give you the option that weather or not you want the light to cast shadows in the model.

A big thanks for considering the suggestions.
