Kindly Help: Render shows 2 materials (Z-Fighting Flickering issue) for Ceiling Face!

Hi, I desperately need some help on this !!

Please see the rendered image attached herein above. It is of an interior scene with the ceiling being shown. As you can see, the ceiling face has two materials occupying the same 3D space (in rendering terms, this is called Z-Fighting). Almost ALL other rendering software such Lumion / Vray / Max/ Blender etc. have a work-around for this in which we can have the software imitate the face as being having some thickness (which we specify with a slider), so that in the render, the flickering gets removed.

How do I get around this problem in D5?

Any and All ideas/ suggestions and opinions are highly requested and deeply obliged for !!

Thank you so much in advance !!

Hi there @ANS

I apologize for the inconvenience. We have yet to have this option in D5 Render, and the workaround for this may need you to inspect this particular surface in your DCC Software (3D modelling software) manually.

  • Please check if there are surface clashes.
  • If possible, try changing the UV Map or Settings.
  • Enable Tri-planar Mode for this particular material
