After updating to 3.0, switching to Orthogonal view mode causes the object’s pivot to stop responding, making it impossible to move or rotate the object.
Hi @peko7
Thank you for reporting this. In D5, the orthogonal view is a 2D planar display mode (Top, Bottom, Front, Back, Left, Right). It is primarily meant for layout or orthographic framing, not for the same free-transform behavior as Perspective.
To help us reproduce and investigate this properly, could you please confirm a few key details?
- Is the issue consistent across all objects, or only with certain imported models?
- When switching to Orthogonal view, does the gizmo disappear entirely, or is it visible but non-interactive?
- Does the problem occur in both Perspective and Orthogonal modes, or only when switching from Perspective to Orthogonal?
- Could you share a simple project file (or short screen video) showing the sequence — selecting an object → enter Orthogonal view → attempt to move/rotate?
Thank you for your response.
After that, I tried various files—new files, new files synced from 3DS MAX, existing files—and the issue did not occur. When I reopened the problematic file to test it again, the issue reappeared, but it resolved itself to normal operation while I was trying things like reloading the file.
I will monitor it for a while and report back if the problem occurs again.
