Issues Re-importing .3dm files

Hi everyone!

I’m been working many days with a D5 project by importing different Rhinoceros 7 .3dm files, but when I make changes and import again the same something happen in D5 that dissapear some surfaces, I tried changing materials and layers (names) but it still not working. I spend lots of time on this until I achived imported correctly the file.

I attached some screenshots of this problem.

Any idea?

Thanks!!

Well after trying different ways to reload I was able to get it right, I don’t know how but I had to create a new layer in Rhino, changed all the polysurfaces on it and saved as the same file I was using. After this, I uploaded the file again and everything appears on stage.

Hello, the layer materials may be not supported very well. Can you send the file with problems to support@d5techs.com?

Thanks,
Oliver

Hi alfredo, we opened your file and found that the problem is due to kind of incompatibility of the file with D5, we will look into it.
For now, you can explode that part directly, and it will be imported into D5 with no problem.
Also, you can use the D5 Converter for Rhino to import the model.

Hello!, thanks for help me with this situation, I apreciated it.

When I been using d5 converter everything turns complicated because the rhino file is imported as a just one layer in D5, and some cases I need to change different model variants and until now I don’t know how to divide everything in “layer” in to D5 when I use the converter.

Hi, it is not supported to keep the layer hierarchy from modeling software, but we may support it in future.

Thanks,
Oliver
