I’m new to D5 and have encountered an issue. I linked a Revit model into D5 and set up the lighting, materials, furniture, and more. I saved my work continuously, but if I don’t finish and save before closing the D5 file, it opens empty the next day. Only the camera views and sky settings remain; everything else disappears. Also, if I open Revit first and link the project again into the existing model, the model appears in D5 as new, with the camera views and sky intact, but everything else is still missing.
Please, I need help because a lot of work and hours are just gone. I’m using Revit 2024 and the latest version of D5. Before anyone asks, I’m not using a cracked version of D5, there was no power outage, and there were no issues during saving.
Respond:
1-D5 2.8
2 - all files D5 work.
3 - Link I said Revit 2024 and latest plugin updated.
4 - I refer to D5 cameras setting.
5 - Not changed.
6 - Like mention in my post I stared file, add texture , artificial light, import model, added vegetation and if I save and closed D5 file and open the D5 file aging all context and work are gone and if I sync the Revit file the model get in but with all previous work .
I understand that this has been frustrating for you. Despite exchanging suggestions back and forth, we have not yet found a final solution to your case. This is not a usual and known case for us. It seems that the only way to move forward is for you to send at least one file that has the issue so that I can thoroughly review it. Lastly, have your files like Revit model/d5 archives/workspace saved on the cloud? Or do you save it locally? Include sending your log files to support@d5techs.com, tag me @maslu, and also include the forum link for easy tracking.
Maslu, thank you for all the support you have given me.
Do you have your files, like Revit models, D5 archives, and workspace, saved on the cloud? Yes, I save them on my local external SSD drive.
The email has been sent.
Also, it happens with all my files. That’s why I’m still using the free version. Even though I love the program, I can’t use the triggers in the Pro version because of this issue. I use D5 for small projects that I can finish in one session.
Thank you for your email. I have checked the files you sent, but it seems that the file is incomplete and I’m unable to open it. Please refer to the attached photo for guidance on how to send the complete file folder on your D5 project.
maslu.
I found out what the issue was. The issue is that I have the D5 render program on my C drive, while all my Revit files and models are on an external SSD drive to prevent my C drive from getting full. I did an exercise where I saved the D5 render file in a folder on my C drive and then closed it. Guess what? When I opened the file again, everything was there. This problem only happens with D5. If you or anyone can tell me if I need to adjust any settings to avoid this issue when saving files on an external drive, please let me know.
