Hi Sir/Madam,
I am new with D5 render and I am using Rhino 8. I created separate files of ‘spotlights’ and ‘Building’ with Rhino 8. I used D5 “import” command to import the two files. However, I can only see gumball for ‘spotlight’ file but cannot see the spotlights objects in the D5 Render, therefore unable to play with the spotlight objects.
Thank you for your kindly attention.
Hi @joncheng20
May I know how these lights were created? Are these from Rhino?
If it is created in Rhino, it can be brought to D5 Render by the use of the LiveSync Plug-in, then proceed to enable the Light Sync Icon

Thank you for your quick reply. I can see the lights created in D5 Render by the use of the LiveSync Plug-in.
I have another questions.
-
First, I finished rendering my building model with materials in D5 Render.
Now I added new layers of lights in the Rhino building model
How can I add the lights into the rendered building model in D5 Render without
redoing the material render process in D5 Render ?
-
I sometime encounter problem with using Rhino LiveSync with D5 Render. I am unable to use LiveSync Plug-in. It is not very consistent to open Rhino LiveSync with D5 Render successfully.
What is the reason of causing this issue?
Please let me know if I need to provide more details.
Thank you for your assistance.
Hi there,
-
You can add the new layer of light by either Live-Sync (which should automatically reflect once there are any changes made from Rhino) or Direct Import via d5a file. I think the safest bet would be to use the Live-sync.

May I know which version of the live-sync you are currently using? It would be best to try to reinstall the plug-in and ensure that you are currently using the latest version.
Let me know of the results. Thank you.
