Hi,
I’m trying to get the same results of nice rain puddles in the latest version of D5 render. But it seems impossible to get the same results as with older versions. The scale is too big, reflections are soft and blurred out and to get them sharp I have to put the rain cursor at its maximum which results in no puddles at all. I can’t get the same sharp reflections and nice rain puddles I got in previous versions of D5. The mask that is used for the scale should be adjustable in exposure or contrast like a noise map with black and white to determine where the puddles should form ( white zones) and black zones where I don’t want any rain reflection or puddles. For now in the latest version the snow seems to work nicely but rain is definitely much worse and than in previous versions. Even if the force setting was a nice add on. Could you please show me some examples with settings that allow nice rain puddles in this latest version ?
Hi @cgmatt
We do understand your concern regarding the new Puddle Effect in the latest 2.10 Version. Although there was an additional setting that was introduced in 2.10.1, this may not be enough to mimic or copy the effect it had in the previous version.
As a potential workaround, you might find that using the Ground Plane from D5’s Terrain, rather than a custom-generated plane, produces a more satisfactory outcome. We recommend giving this a try.
Thank you for your understanding.
