Has anyone else experienced similar issues with Scatter in version 2.8? After the update, Scatter seems to be unstable. I encounter frequent crashes, lose the ability to edit, and overall, it seems very buggy.
I can select a scatter after making an edit to a project model. The scatter prompts me to regenerate, which I do, but nothing happens initially. Afterward, no options are available to make further edits.
Apologies that this is happening to you. What modeling software or workflow you’re currently using? May I know more details about your file? Is this an old project? Is this the only file that you have an issue with? Could you point out the exact time you are using the scatter feature? This is for documentation purposes, need to make sure that it is a known or ongoing issue right after D5 has new updates.
This is a new, fresh project build. The base model is SketchUp Pro 2021. This issue occurred at the time of this posting and still remains. The workaround involves completely removing the scatter and redoing it. Regenerating or adding new surface geometry is too risky, as it causes the file to crash. Additionally, the right edit panel doesn’t load properly when attempting to return to a previously made scatter. This was not an issue with the initial release of Scatter in version 2.7.
I have read and posted about the fix coming in version 2.9. Do you happen to know the release date for this?
Apologies for your trouble. The dev team is working double time to have it fixed but as of this posting, there’s no definite exact time regarding the release of version 2.9. If it is convenient on your end, you can share your
complete project files and log files for a thorough investigation. Please send it to support@d5techs.com and you can also add the full link to this issue (D5 Forum). Lastly, tag me @maslu your technical support for easy tracking.
