Infraworks into D5 Render?

Hello everyone.

I am a completely new user of D5 Render, but have previously used Lumion a lot.

Is it possible to import an Autodesk Infraworks model into D5 Render, so that you get a good sense of the surroundings when creating 3D visualizations for large factories? Or are there other terrain models that give a better sense of the surroundings?

Thank you in advance.

Morten.

Hi, Direct connection between Autodesk Infraworks and D5 is not supported at this time. But you can export the model from Autodesk Infraworks and import it into D5.

Currently D5 supports importing file formats including: .skp / .fbx / .d5a / 3dm / .abc.

Hey Ryann.

Thanks for your reply.

I know how to import the infraworks model, but it only shows up as “white” in D5.

How to fix this?

Lumion:

Hi, D5 currently does not support importing fbx models with textures. If you imported the model using the fbx file format, then you can manually apply textures of the model in D5.

Hey Ryan. Do you have another great way to visualize real ife surroundings, without having to apply textures? We really like the look we get from the infraworks model, because it shows hills/mountains, roads, fields etc.

Hi mate, how did you import the model into Lumion? Import the fbx directly or other formats of files?

FBX directly.

Its a real shame, that we cant get real life terrainmodels into D5. If we could, our company would consider switching to D5 Pro.
