Importing PNG

What is the best way to import a png image?

I’m using a plane basic model from D5’s asset
Then import the image into the base color map. However, the transparent part is black, how can I make it transparent?

Hi @angelelpipo !
You can set the material template as transparent for the plane.

If it is not the effect you want, please tell us.

Hello
I usually treat the image with Adobe Photoshop. I select the black part and the concello, but first I go to layer. which is on the right, I click it and then I select that the part of the background must be neutral, that is transparent, then I save it in PNG. When I load it as a transportable material you will no longer see the black background, I hope I have helped you. :smiling_face: :smiling_face: :smiling_face:
PS: However Ruby gave you the right answer

thank you for replying,
@Ruby , @riccardofortelli
on my end, the transparency effect what it does is lowering the opacity of the image… I can still see the black part.

(note): The original image doesn’t have black parts. It appears when I import it into D5

I will give it a try to @riccardofortelli method.

That is caused by the “Transparent” material. If you want full transparency, you have to use the “Custom Alpha” material template

Can you tell me how to use it? or where it is?

Please firstly press shortcut key i to select the plane, then you will see the inspector on the right-sidebar. Then click the dropdown menu of Material Template, then choose Custom Alpha.

Susa I was wrong to indicate transparency, it was alpha contrast that you had to do ‘no transparency’, ruby is right and the colleague, after having done the method I explained to you with Adobe Photoshop, you have to load the image with alpha contrast. Again sorry for my mistake
