I have a model that i built and rendered everything in but I need to make the model lighter (fo Condocs) so I saved all objects that are not needed in the construction documents into another model then imported that separatley back into the D5 model. However the materials that had been changhed seem to not keep their parameters. Do I have to go in and change each material again if I want to do any more renders? This would be a massive time suck as this is my usual workflow after my initial render presentations have been submitted to client.
Hello! Did you import the two parts separately as two models into D5? I think if you imported them as two models, you might have needed to adjust their materials separately.
Hi @indiowhite,
The parameters adjustment for the materials in D5 cannot be synchronized to the modelling software. If you adjusted the parameters of the materials of one file in D5 Render, and then import the other changed model file into D5, parameters in d5 will not be maintained.
Hi,
I did all the materials changes in the D5 from the original model. Then in skp. I saved the accessory items into another skp model to lighten up the original model. I then imported the Accessories model. No Material names were changes in any of the SKP models but in the accessories model it is reverting back to original material.
So, the materials are linked to each objects within or model within D5 and not the name of the material like Lumion does? Shouldn’t it remain the same as the object are the same just not coming from a separate skp file?
Hello,
My materials are not updateing to match my sketchup model through sync. If I move the slider to darken a texture then nothiing happens in the D5 Model
Hi @indiowhite
Can you send us a video-recording of this particular issue? You may send a link here containing the video.
Additionally, please provide the images of the following:
- Which version of D5 Livesync are you using?
If you’re using the D5 Sync Plug-in please uninstall it and use the Live-sync version. - Sketchup Version?
- D5 Version?
Hi,
I am using Sketchup Pro 2025. D5 Livesync 1.5.0.0017
D5 version 2.10.1.0579

Kind Regards,
It seems to work with a new project. I think it stopped working when I saved out some buildings in a new model to import separately and layer to be able to turn off. So the problem is the materials don’t sync after importing additional models.
Hi @indiowhite
Alright, thanks for the update.
- I have tried it on my end, adding several imported models through direct import. But the material is still changing with no delays or issues. Video Recording - Unique Download Link | WeTransfer
- Can you record a video repeating the whole process where the material modification is not reflected after importing several models?
There is a link from my last post with a video
i dont know if thats why its stops syncing material changes I was just saying that may be a possibility since I did import a model into the file.
Hi @indiowhite
Yes, I am aware that there is a video, and I have checked it, but it only shows the slider being modified. We would want to replicate this issue on our end too, so we can repair this issue asap. Or perhaps you can send this specific SKP file so we can try and test it on our end.
Thank you for your understanding.
