Hello,
Importing a large number of objects into D5 is not a problem.
I now have all these imported objects in the import.
Now I have to drag each individual object into the scene,
which is time-consuming and tedious.
How can I make this work easier?
Is it possible to drag all objects into the scene at once?
I haven’t found out how to do this!
Bye
Andreas
Hi there. I am here to help. Although some users may have a different way of speeding up their workflow, this is usually how I do mine:
- You can group the objects in your 3d modeling software first.
- Enable “Keep group structure info”
- Proceed to import the file to d5, and then you will notice that when you insert the model, it has already been grouped while maintaining its individuality.
Hope this helps, thank you.
Hello Clovisbolasco14,
thanks for the tip.
Unfortunately, this does not solve the problem for me.
I don’t use any of the 3D modelling programs supported by D5.
So I can’t use any of the plug-ins offered.
Even if I did, it would still be helpful if I could select a desired number of imported objects and place them in the scene at the same time.
I hope that this urgently needed function will be added to the programme by the D5 team in the near future.
Bye
Andreas
Hi there I apologize. May I know which software you are currently using, and do you directly import your model files to d5? Nevertheless, thank you for your insights and feedbacks regarding this.
Hello,
I use EliteCAD and Moment of Inspiration (moi3d).
I designed this project with Moment of Inspiration.
For the phasing I imported about 150 objects into D5.
I had to drag every single one into the scene, which is time-consuming.
If my wish was realised by the D5 team, I can save a lot of time and unnecessary work.
Goodbye
Andreas
Hello,
unfortunately I cannot download the files from Moment of Inspiration
directly into D5.
Although the file extension (.3dm) is identical to that of Rhino.
I had consulted the developer of Moment of Inspiration about this.
Obviously there are differences in the format of .3dm, despite the same extension.
He said that a solution to this problem can only be provided by the developer of D5
developer.
Perhaps the D5 team can also find a solution here.
Goodbye
Andreas
Hi there. I have consulted our team regarding your concern for this workflow despite having the same file format as 3dsMax (.3dm). Thank you for your insights and suggestions, I will update you as soon as possible.
Hello,
it would of course be great if both points could be implemented promptly by the D5 team.
So:
- Direct import of the .3dm file format from Moment of Inspiration.
- Import of many objects simultaneously into the scene.
Bye
Andreas
Hi there, I have forwarded your suggestion to my team. For now, Mol 3d, despite having a similar file format to 3dsmax, is not yet supported. Perhaps in subsequent releases, this may be realized; thank you.
