I need to change the color of the flower of a plant from the assets library.

I was wondering if there’s a way to change the flower color of existing plant models in the library. Specifically, I need Hydrangea paniculata with white flowers only, but the available versions in the software seem to have both white and pink, which doesn’t work for my design.
Also, I noticed that several plant species are missing. Just to give a quick example: Hydrangea quercifolia, Deschampsia, and Geranium aren’t available.
It would be great to have a wider plant library and the ability to customize things like flower color—it would really help with more accurate and flexible designs.

Hi @f.martin

For now, the method to change the colour of the flowers is to activate “Material Picker ( Press I)”, then select the surface of the flower you want to change then modify the Base Colour.

  • As for your suggestions, can you provide us with the sample images of these plants? They seem to have an identical-looking alternative in the Library, I’m not sure if this could somehow be used as an alternative for now.

Thanks for the quick reply!
I’m attaching below a visual reference of the plants — the images are not mine, they were found on Google and are used only to show the type of plant I’m referring to.
To avoid cluttering the forum, I’ve combined them into a single collage.
After a quick check, I noticed a few more missing plants, and I’m sure I’ll find others over time.
What’s the best way to send you suggestions like these as I come across them?

Hi @f.martin

Thanks for this. There are two ways actually, you can either post it also in Ideas and Request or here in Get Help section in forum. Either way they will be noticed by our team.

I’m trying to change the Base Color of a foliage model (a Phormium Sundowner) to make the leaves uniformly red. However, when I adjust the Base Color and the Base Color Map, the result is not satisfying: the lighter leaves still show the original model’s color. I only see the new color where the leaves are not directly lit.

How can I achieve a uniform color across all the leaves in D5 Render, regardless of lighting?
Should I adjust other parameters like the Subsurface Color, Opacity, or Specular settings?

Thank you very much for your help!

I’m also experiencing this issue. Several trees, such as Populus nigra, have a surface scatter color that doesn’t respond to any color adjustments we try to make. As a result, if I want to change the color, it only affects the lit side of the leaves — or something similar to that effect. In my case, I was trying to make the green of the leaves a bit warmer/more yellow, but it was impossible. I had to replace the trees with others that weren’t poplars.

Hi there,

Try inserting a solid colour PNG in Subsurface Colour.
