I have a question about volume lighting.

Hello. I’m currently practicing with the D5 after using Lumion as a designer. I’d like to use volumetric lighting on the D5,
but it’s not as sharp as it is with Lumion. Is there a way to do this?

Hi @qkrdygkssla12325

Can you reupload these photos, it’s not appearing normally.

@Clov
I edited it and uploaded it!

Hi @qkrdygkssla12325

Alright, the image now displays normally. May I also know, how you expected the volume lighting to look like? Any reference images? So I can guide you, or perhaps we can use it to improve, if ever such a requirement can’t be achieved for now.

@Clov
The photo above was created with Lumion. Lumion produces clear, volumetric lighting, but the photo below, created with the D5, doesn’t produce clear, volumetric lighting. Any suggestions for a solution would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @qkrdygkssla12325

Try to insert a Volumetric Light Particle between the light and the surface where it is directed. Then change the Volumetric Particle’s parameter, reduce the number of beams, and increase the intensity. You may adjust other parameters, too, according to your preference.

Note: Fog needs to be enabled for volumetric light to appear.

My settings window seems different. Is there a difference between the Pro and Free versions?

Hi @qkrdygkssla12325

Yes, as you can see in my screenshot:

  • These parameters are from the Volume Light Particle, but this particle is only available for the PRO version.
  • I’m also using Stage Lights instead of spotlight assets, which is only available for PRO users
