How to create a big realistic wall of bricks

Hi,

I am trying to create a brick wall that looks realistic. The size of this wall is 5 meters high by 40 meters long. The idea is to get a weathered brick wall, as the site is an old brick built shed. Due to the length of the wall, it is difficult to get the patterns not to repeat and make the image look very bad. By doing the UV Randomizer it doesn’t look so bad, but I lose the Displacement. The other option I’m thinking of is to use a totally seamless brick material and add details or decals to make the wall look worn, but it’s a lot of work.

I would like to know if there are better techniques to achieve the effect I am looking for.

Thanks in advance.

Hi @tbuschh

Thanks for the detailed description.

We don’t support ‘UV Randomizer’ for Displacement material template for now, but we are still researching it.

Currently, this feature is not supported for Transparent, Flowing Water, Displacement, Multimedia, and Foliage material templates.

For now, in your situation, I would suggest you process your brick wall map in other image software in advance to make its pattern more random and free. After that, you import it in the base color map of the displacement material template in D5.

You can also try our AI feature- make seamless to make your imported images more coordinated: How to use AI Make Seamless? | User Manual

Thanks for your understanding.
