How do I integrate a Meta Quest 3 into presentations?

I have never used VR before and I’m keen to start presenting garden designs with it. My clients can be located anywhere in the world and they aren’t particularly good with technology, plus I’ve never used VR either. Once I have created a D5 Tour and have the link, do you just pair the headset to a phone and once the link has been clicked it works via input from the headset?

Apologies for being an old man😆

Hi @3DG

Sorry for the delayed response, and no worries at all!

To clarify, D5 Spatial Tours (shared links) and VR headset mode work a bit differently:

  • A D5 Spatial Tour link can be opened by your clients in a normal web browser on a PC, tablet, or phone. It’s very easy to use and ideal for non-technical users, but it’s not a full VR headset mode.
  • True VR with a headset requires connecting the headset to a PC running D5 Render (via SteamVR) and using D5’s VR feature (beta). This setup doesn’t work through a phone or a shared link.
  • Simply pairing a headset to a phone and opening the tour link won’t automatically launch a full VR experience.

For clients located anywhere in the world who aren’t very tech-savvy, D5 Spatial Tours via a browser link is usually the simplest and most reliable solution. VR headsets are better suited for in-office or guided presentations.
