How can i purge cache D5 Render?

I have noticed that in the “current location” folder there is a subfolder where the textures and videos (of our own assets) of the models we work on in D5 Render are stored. Is it possible that there is a way to purge the software cache without damaging essential elements of it? This is so that we do not have duplicate files such as the textures and videos already mentioned.

Hi there, the assets in the online and local library are stored in the subfolder, and the “video” you saw is the video material. And about the cache, if you mean this folder named “.cache”, we don’t recommend deleting it. This folder does not take up much space and deleting it may cause some problems.

Sorry, I forgot to specify the exact path, which is the following: “D5 WorkSpace\content\um” It is right in that folder where textures, videos and other elements are stored once we import the model to D5 render.

Hi there, you can delete the folder “um” if you think that it takes up some space. Some thumbnails are stored in it, which will be automatically generated again if they are needed next time.

today I did a test: instead of deleting the “um” subfolder, I just renamed it…

it was not a good idea. A lot of materials were missing when I reopened the project.

It also happens when the “example_d5c” folder, where the textures are auto-extracted, is renamed or deleted. The problem for me is that a lot of textures are duplicated there.

The solution I found is, after finalizing a project, I manually have to clean the 3D file (which is a good practice anyway), then I save as a new file, and relink to the D5 scene.

And after a final review, I use the “clean data” option on D5.
